    Lee,
After reading some of your materials for SMUG I’ve started a Facebook business page for the Boston Bar Association. A colleague of mine at the Bar Association of San Francisco has also started a Facebook page for her organization. (Both the San Francisco Bar and the New Hampshire Bar Association have been using You Tube though we haven’t done that yet.)I will be moderating a panel on social media for the National Association of Bar Executives next month and hope to demonstrate that the benefits greatly outweigh the risks.

Thanks for this update, Lee. This has been particularly helpful for me as I’m currently preparing a presentation on Facebook and YouTube for some of the senior leadership at our medical school. We’re looking toward moving into social media with a more defined plan.

So far we’ve just “tested the waters” with a Facebook page (you can check it out by clicking on my name in this comment). We haven’t “advertised” the page internally, but people have found us through Facebook’s search. It’s been successful so far at connecting some of our stakeholders and getting information out to those who miss it through our traditional avenues (web site, newsletters, email, etc.)

Thanks for sharing your experiences, Bonnie and Brycie. I appreciate getting to see examples of what others are doing.
