Lee, as much as I agree with you that right now social media is working in synergy with mass media, I believe the synergy as you are describing it is coming to an end. Let me explain. Soon, TV, radio and newspapers as we know them will be gone. They will become more interactive and more… well… social. I can see the day when we will be able to ‘friend’ people, share shows and participate in discussions using our remote controls. On the other hand, as more and more people start using social media to access and share information, it will become another channel (or even channels since there are so many social media platforms out there) of mass communication. So, may be the next thesis should be “Social Media Convergence with Mass Media.”

Awesome example of social media and mass media coming together to inform different audiences and bring those audiences together. Can't wait to share this post, idea with my whole office here at Fleishman KC.

I have been trying to get a better understanding of regulated industries like healthcare and what is ok, not ok in the social media space. Just to clarify for me and other readers...it was ok to film and tell Jason's story once he gave permission, right?

And can Dr. Berger give specific advice during the chat today or only answer questions that might apply to any patients with a #wristinjury?

Thanks for continuing to open new doors when it comes to healthcare and social media. I, for one, and learning a lot from your efforts.
