If I messed up and didnt do something right is there a way to go back and fix it? I also dont have a join button. But, I had a friend take a look at it and she said it wasnt there. Where would I find out how to put one there? Thanks, Kay

First I created my own page on Facebook. Then I invited friends. Next I created a group. Now how do I explain to friends who accept, exactly what to do to JOIN this group?

Yes, the reason you don't have a "Request to Join" button is because you are already a member as the administrator.

Glad you enjoyed the post.

A really good article. Thank you for publishing it. I've just created a "Closed" group for our church. I am therefore the administrator. I've seen other church's closed group pages and they have a "Request to Join" button at the top. When I view the group page I've created, I see no such button. Is that because I'm logged in as myself (i.e., the administrator) and therefore already a member? Would a non-member of the group see the "Request to Join" button?

Great post! I plan to experiment with groups to analyze their functionality for internal use. I do have one question: you say that a page is appropriate for organizations and/or brands... but what if your organization operates several business units? Would you recommend separate pages for those units or would you go with a group?

This is a great article. My question is how handle folks who are building businesses profiles and "requesting" to be a friends, and not fan page. I thought this was not to happen in face book and organizations should only a group or fan page.
