LifeScience Alley Presentation

This morning I have the opportunity to present at a LifeScience Alley educational forum. The title of the presentation is Leveraging Social Media to Reach Customers and Improve Organizational Effectiveness: The Mayo Clinic Perspective.

Here are my slides:

I’m looking forward to this presentation and the ensuing discussion, and hope the conversation will continue here.

  1. Inspiring presentation! You suggested you might be able to connect me with someone at Google that can guide us in branding our YouTube channel. Please do!

Broader question: At what points, if any, in the last five years of this journey have you sat back to create an official “Social Media Plan and/or Strategy” for Mayo? How’d that go?

  2. Thanks to both of you. We did an official plan in 2007 or so, and then again at the launch of Sharing Mayo Clinic at the beginning of 2009. But mainly the progression has been natural and based on taking advantage of opportunities to take the next reasonable step, and building consensus for each new initiative…but always in keeping with our basic values.

  3. How has your use of social media affected/improved employee recruiting? Are you using it specifically for recruiting in any way?
